The day Paradoxal landed at the Chanel counter at Mills here in Halifax, the SA called me and told me she’d hold it for me till the end of the day. I literally vibrated at my desk for about 20 minutes until surreptiously bolting out the door and huffing it as fast as I could uptown to swipe my first Chanel polish. The iridescent bright pink shimmer amidst the murky purple polish was totally swoon-worthy as I admired it in the summer daylight. I couldn’t wait to get home to try it on!
However…of course we all know that this gorgeous shimmer did not translate on the nail as hoped. In the *perfect* light you can see it, but that occurs about, hmm, never. Regardless, I still appreciated the uniqueness of the shade, though I wasn’t as eager to wear it as most of my other polish hauls.
Last night, I thought it time to give it another go, it had been a while and since it’s been rainy and dismal here the past few days, it seems a sort of fitting polish to wear. This time, though, I have to say I am thoroughly enjoying it!! I think it has to do with being much paler now than I was during the summer. It looks striking now, rather than sort of muddy. The shimmer of course, is still mostly absent, but the color is quite beautiful even without it. And the application is divine – creamy, smooth goodness. Enough to make me spend another $29 on a Chanel polish? …perhaps
Anyone else ever revisited a polish/makeup shade a second time only to change their mind about it? (either for better or worse?)This is a pedi I did with Paradoxal back in mid-September (I quite like it on toes!). I don’t have a swatch of my current mani as the weather is too miserable to get an accurate shot.
