Presenting Essie: Jazz

Voila! Behold a typical Essie neutral: ‘Jazz.’

This was one of my first (if not the first) neutral shades I’ve purchased since my nail polish fetish began. I think it’s quite flattering – not too grey and not so light that it makes my hands look dead. This is three coats, with both base and top coats – and I found the third coat necessary as there is just a touch of dragging with application which leaves a bald spot here and there. I didn’t really mind too much though. Other than the slight dragging, the application was easy. The consistency is on the thinner side which helped each coat to dry relatively quickly. I’ve been wearing it since Sunday night and as you can see there are a few minor chips – but with such a neutral shade you can hardly see them unless you’re looking for them. I enjoy that this is one of those shades I don’t mind having longer nails with – I find it looks elegant rather than gaudy.

I’m eager to get a look at the new Essie collections for Spring (and maybe Summer is out now too, who knows when you’ve had your head in the sand for 6 weeks!!). Any shades in particular I should be keeping an eye out for??

I am ALWAYS looking at this but putting it back on the shelf reluctantly because it seems to clash with my skin tone. Looks fabulous on you!!

Thank you my dear :) Any shades like these are tricky to wear, even just a shade/tone or two different and it can look awesome/ghastly. I lucked out I guess!

...And what do you have to say about all this?? Dish! :)
