Update (Nov. 3/11) – Ooops! I totally forgot to add the product photos, in my excitement lol. Please see added pics below:
About a month ago, I received a sneak peek jar at Make Up For Ever’s new Fluo Night – a transparent powder that glows under black light. As cool as it is, I never thought I’d get a chance to try it out – I rarely go downtown any more, and I don’t exactly have a black light kickin’ around our house.
However, this past weekend a friend of mine had a Halloween party. As he tends to throw parties in style, sparing nothing in order to make it as fun as possible, I had a brainstorm that he *might* be using black lights for spooky effect. Awesomely, he was! So, I made sure to incorporate it into my Halloween look; I went as ‘Sideshow Bob’ from the Simpsons – strange, I know, but I have been hearing that I should be him for Halloween for pretty much ever (due to my crazy curly hair), and lacking a better idea, so it was. As I didn’t wear much makeup, posing as a dude and all, I just dusted the powder over my eyelids and eagerly awaited my time in the ‘spotlight.’
Here’s the product in full effect:
SO FRIGGIN’ COOL, RIGHT!?! MAN! My friend who took this photo did a little happy dance after seeing the shot, and I couldn’t help but follow suit once I saw it too lol. I am beyond enamoured with how this looked and how the photo turned out. So neat! And crazy easy to use – just brush it on like regular eyeshadow, or dust it anywhere you want to glow (cheeks, lips, body, etc). As it’s translucent, it doesn’t add any color at all.
Apparently you can mix it with your favorite products to produce really interesting and unique effects. It also claims it’s long-lasting, and I concur – I was dancing like a maniac several hours before this was taken, and the effect isn’t dimmed whatsoever.
There isn’t much else to write about this product; if you’re at all interested in something like this, there’s no good reason not to check it out – it’s so fun, and had no downsides that I could see. Certainly, it’s a novel idea and something different to try, and for those of us that may be scared to go too far outside the box, I think this is a neat option that looks cool but is invisible in regular lighting – perfect!
Fluo Night is available at Sephora for $33CDN.
This product was provided to me by Make Up For Ever’s PR for consideration.

How cool is this! You look positively GROOVY!!! And you thought you’d never find a use for a product as wild as this, lol!! Love the wild hair, by the way…..I always wanted curly hair when I was growing up (I got the straight, my brother got the curly…he wanted straight hair!), but after all these years, I’ve learned to work with what I have. But your hair looks like so much fun!!!

You’re way too pretty and – well, normal – to be Sideshow Bob, LOL! (Always found him so incredibly creepy whenever he was on!) But to echo Eugenia, how cool is this???? Bringing it out for Halloween was a GREAT idea! I think you’re the only person on the blogosphere to rock it properly so far.
